Delivery Policy

At Ash Smoked Fishes, we deliver our freshly smoked fish and seafood using our own chilled van, ensuring everything arrives as fresh as if you’d picked it up from the hut yourself. We are a family-run smokehouse based on Aldeburgh beach, and we believe in honest, reliable local delivery.

Where We Deliver

We currently deliver across Aldeburgh and a wide surrounding area, including Thorpeness, Leiston, Saxmundham, Southwold, Halesworth, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Beccles and nearby villages.

Delivery availability is based on your postcode, which is checked automatically at checkout.

Delivery Zones & Pricing

Your delivery fee and minimum spend depend on where you live:

Zone 1 – IP15*

  • Minimum order: £20
  • Delivery fee: £3
  • Free delivery on orders over £40

Zone 2 – IP16*

  • Minimum order: £20
  • Delivery fee: £6
  • Free delivery on orders over £40

Zone 3 – IP17*

  • Minimum order: £20
  • Delivery fee: £9
  • Free delivery on orders over £40

Zone 4 – IP18*

  • Minimum order: £20
  • Delivery fee: £12
  • No free delivery available in this zone

Zone 5 – IP19*, IP12*, IP13*

  • Minimum order: £40
  • Delivery fee: £17
  • No free delivery available in this zone

Zone 6 – NR32*, NR33*, NR34*, IP20*, IP1*, IP2*, IP3*, IP4*, IP5*

  • Minimum order: £40
  • Delivery fee: £20
  • No free delivery available in this zone

Click & Collect (Free)

Click & Collect is available on all orders at no charge.

Collection point:
Hut 8, Crag Path, Aldeburgh, IP15 5BP

We will contact you when your order is ready to collect.

Delivery Times

We deliver 7 days a week, 8am–4pm, depending on your location. We will contact you by phone, text or email to confirm your exact delivery day.

Most orders are delivered within 1–3 working days, depending on stock and smoking schedules.

How We Keep Your Order Fresh

We deliver using our own refrigerated van, ensuring premium freshness at every step. Your fish stays chilled from the smokehouse until it reaches your door.

If you will not be home, please leave instructions for a safe place. We cannot leave deliveries in warm or uncovered areas.

Products Sold by Weight

Some items (such as salmon, cod, haddock and tuna) are sold by the kilo. Because every cut is unique, the final weight may vary slightly.

Our approach is simple and fair:

  • We cut as close as possible to the ordered weight
  • We never overcharge
  • If the final cut is slightly underweight or overweight, we will adjust the price fairly or provide an equivalent portion
  • You will always receive excellent value and a fresh, generous portion

Unavailable Items

We smoke in small batches and the availability of fresh fish depends on weather, season and catch. If an item becomes unavailable after you order it, we will contact you with:

  • A suggested alternative
  • An adjusted delivery time
  • Or a refund, if preferred

Missed Deliveries

If we are unable to deliver because no safe place was provided, we may need to reschedule delivery. Additional charges may apply for a second delivery attempt.
