A true Aldeburgh classic, our Noon Tart is handmade from scratch in our seaside smokehouse kitchen. Each tart combines delicately smoked haddock with rich smoked Cheddar, fresh double cream, and free-range eggs — all baked in a golden, flaky pastry case. It’s a comforting blend of creamy, savoury flavours that captures the taste of the Suffolk coast in every bite.

We’ve been perfecting this recipe for years — balancing the natural saltiness of our oak-smoked fish with the smoothness of local cream and cheese. The result is a hearty, wholesome tart that’s every bit as satisfying cold from the fridge as it is gently warmed in the oven. If you’ve ever wandered past our hut on Crag Path and followed the smell of oak smoke and butter, chances are you’ve already been tempted by one of these.

Perfect for lunch, a light supper, or part of a picnic spread, the Noon Tart has become one of our most-loved creations — rich, simple, and unmistakably Aldeburgh. Pair it with a crisp salad, or enjoy it on its own beside the sea.

Each tart is freshly prepared by hand and contains no additives or artificial flavourings — just honest ingredients and time-honoured techniques passed down through our smokehouse.

Smoked haddock (FISH), smoked Cheddar cheese (MILK), onion, egg (EGG), double cream (MILK), salt, black pepper, nutmeg, mustard (MUSTARD), pastry (contains WHEAT).

Keep refrigerated at 0–5 °C. Use by the date shown.
Suitable for home freezing — freeze on the day of purchase and consume within 3 months.

We smoke the traditional way, using real Suffolk oak and a light touch to bring out the flavour of the fish.

It’s proper, honest smoking — done on the beach at Hut 8, Crag Path, with care and a bit of pride.
Do you deliver?
Yes — we deliver locally across Aldeburgh and the surrounding area using our chilled van. This includes Thorpeness, Leiston, Saxmundham, Southwold, Halesworth, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Ipswich and nearby villages.

Your order will arrive fresh and ready to enjoy, just as if you’d picked it up from the hut yourself.
Can I buy directly from the hut?
Yes, of course! We’re open seven days a week, 8am to 5pm, and there’s always something fresh ready to take home.

You’ll find us at Hut 8, Crag Path, just opposite the Moot Hall — follow the smell of oak smoke and you can’t miss us.
