  • Where is Ash Smoked Fishes located?

    We’re based at Hut 8, Crag Path, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, IP15 5BP, right by the seafront. You can find us opposite the Moot Hall and just along from the Aldeburgh Yacht Pond.
  • What kind of fish do you smoke?

    All sorts of good stuff! We hand-smoke salmon, haddock, mackerel and kippers, the traditional way, using real oak and plenty of patience. Everything’s prepared on site in our Aldeburgh smokehouse.
  • Can we collaborate?

    We love teaming up with other local makers and chefs. If you’ve got an idea — maybe a menu special or a local food event — get in touch. We’re always up for something tasty.

Orders & Delivery

  • Do you deliver outside Aldeburgh?

    Yes — we deliver across Aldeburgh and a wide surrounding area, including Thorpeness, Leiston, Saxmundham, Southwold, Halesworth, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Ipswich and nearby villages. We use our refrigerated van to keep everything chilled and fresh.

  • Can I track my order?

    We’ll keep you updated by text, call or email — you’ll know when your order’s ready and when it’s on its way.
  • How long will my order take to arrive?

    Most local deliveries are made within 1–3 working days. Once your fish has been smoked, sliced and packed, we’ll confirm your delivery day with you.
  • How can I change my order?

    If you need to make a change, please get in touch as soon as possible. Once the fish is smoked and sealed, it’s tricky to make adjustments — but we’ll always do our best to help.
  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We take all major payment methods securely through PayPal, including debit and credit cards. You don’t need a PayPal account to pay — just choose the card option at checkout.

Returns & Replacements

  • What if there’s a problem with my order?

    If something’s not right — whether it’s damaged, missing or not up to our usual standard — let us know straight away. We’ll sort it quickly with a replacement or refund. We can’t take returns on fresh fish, but we’ll always make things right.

Care & Storage

  • Where does your fish come from?

    We work with trusted suppliers who share our values on sustainability and quality. Our oak for smoking is locally sourced too — keeping everything as Suffolk as possible.
  • How should I store my smoked fish?

    Keep it in the fridge at 0–5 °C and enjoy it by the date on the pack. If you’re saving it for later, you can freeze it for up to three months. Once opened, it’s best eaten within a couple of days — though it rarely lasts that long!

  • How do I find your smokehouse shop?

    We’re on Crag Path, overlooking the beach in Aldeburgh. Just follow your nose — the smell of oak smoke will lead you straight to us! There’s parking along Crag Path or nearby in town.
  • Can I sell my products through your shop?

    We love supporting other local businesses. If you make something that pairs nicely with smoked fish — sauces, chutneys, bread, you name it — drop us a message. We’re always keen to work with local producers.

  • How do I get a copy of my invoice?

    You’ll get an invoice automatically by email when you order. If you need another copy or something more detailed, just get in touch and we’ll send it over.
