Welcome to Ash Smoked Fishes. By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. Please read them carefully.
1. About Us
Ash Smoked Fishes is a family-run smokehouse located on Aldeburgh beach. We produce and sell freshly smoked fish, seafood, patés, tarts and related products. All items are prepared and handled with care in our Aldeburgh smokehouse. VAT Registration Number: GB486963720
2. Product Information
We aim to describe all products as accurately as possible, including ingredients, allergens, weights and storage information. As many items are handmade or hand-prepared, small variations may occur.
Where products are sold by weight, the final weight may vary slightly from the selected amount due to the natural variation in fish size. We always cut as close as possible and never overcharge intentionally. Any adjustments will be made fairly.
3. Allergens
Allergens are clearly listed in product descriptions. However, please note that many of our products contain fish and may also include crustaceans, molluscs, mustard, eggs and other allergens. Our smokehouse handles multiple allergens.
If you have specific dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us before placing an order.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. Payment is processed securely at checkout using approved payment providers such as Stripe.
For products sold per kilo, the final price may differ slightly based on actual weight. We will adjust the cost fairly if required.
5. Orders & Availability
Your order is confirmed once payment has been received. All items are subject to availability, as fresh fish supply can vary due to weather, season and catch.
If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you to offer an alternative, an updated delivery time or a refund.
6. Delivery
We offer local delivery using our chilled van. Delivery availability, minimum spend and fees depend on postcode. Full delivery details can be found in our Delivery Policy.
If no one is available to receive your delivery and no safe place is provided, we may need to rearrange delivery. A second delivery fee may apply.
7. Click & Collect
Click & Collect is available free of charge from Hut 8, Crag Path, Aldeburgh. We will notify you when your order is ready for collection.
Perishable goods not collected on the agreed day may no longer be safe to consume. In this situation, we cannot offer a refund.
8. Refunds, Returns & Replacements
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we cannot accept returns simply because you have changed your mind. However, if there is a problem with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or collection so we can put things right.

9. Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We may not be able to cancel orders once smoking, preparation or packing has begun, especially for fresh or weight-based items.
10. Customer Accounts
You may check out as a guest or create an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
We respect your privacy. Your personal data is handled securely and in accordance with UK data protection law. Full details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
12. Website Use
You agree not to misuse our website or attempt to interfere with its functionality. We may suspend or restrict access if misuse is detected.
13. Liability
We take great care to ensure our products are safe, fresh and properly packaged. However, we cannot accept responsibility for:
- Improper storage after delivery or collection
- Allergic reactions where full allergen information was provided
- Delays caused by weather, traffic, or unavoidable circumstances
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally to reflect changes in our business or legal requirements.
