Our Smoked Mackerel Pâté is a rich, creamy spread made with hand-flaked hot-smoked mackerel from our Aldeburgh smokehouse. We blend it with smooth cream cheese, a touch of horseradish, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and a crack of black pepper for the perfect balance of warmth and depth.
Each batch is prepared by hand using naturally smoked mackerel fillets — no dyes, no additives, just pure Suffolk flavour. The result is a smooth, flavourful pâté with a gentle heat and tang that pairs beautifully with crusty bread, toast, or oatcakes.
Garnished simply with samphire and chilled to set, it’s a ready-to-eat favourite — ideal as a light lunch, starter, or picnic dish. This is traditional fish smoking and simple craftsmanship at its best.
